South Bay Area to SFO

I live near the Caltrain station in Mountain View, and will have an international flight to catch on a Friday at 1:30pm. Being a bit adventurous, I started looking into ways to get to SFO without driving. Um… why not start with Caltrain? Here is the Caltrain schedule… get yourself comfortable with the huge table. A ruler might help. http://www.caltrain.com/timetable.html Apparently Caltrain won’t take me to SFO, but it could take me to Millbrae or San Bruno. Close enough. Notice that San Bruno is in one zone further, it will cost $6 instead of $4.25 ( Fares and Zones as of May 6, 2010). But that’s not the main concern for now. ...

CLLocationManager error

This happened to me while debugging an iphone app with CoreLocation. I got crashes consistently. Then I started paying more attention to the console output, here is the error message: ERROR,Time,290362745.002,Function,“void CLClientHandleDaemonDataRegistration(__CLClient*, const CLDaemonCommToClientRegistration*, const __CFDictionary*)",server did not accept client registration 1 WARNING,Time,290362745.005,Function,“void CLClientHandleDaemonInvalidation(__CFMessagePort*, void*)",client 1035.0 has been disconnected from daemon That doesn’t make much sense… ^^; Then I realized I kept saying no to the pop up question “Would Like to Use Your Current Location”. I tried saying “OK”, then everything worked. No more errors. ...

live video app

Just saw some videos and read some articles about this cool app called Knocking. Basically, it’s a video live sharing app, somewhat like a webcam but on your iphone or android. Awesome, right? It’s a free app, so check it out! Let me know if you get this app as well so we can try it out together. I have a feeling this kind of live video sharing apps will become mainstream soon. ...

The Secret of Kells

I wasn’t really expecting much at the beginning of this movie. After all, I am more used to the japanese animes kind of drawing. Ten minutes into the movie, I almost wanted to turn it off, but was too lazy to do so in my chair. After a while I found myself fascinated by the artistic drawing of it. Lucky me this movie turned out to be quite good. Kinda reminds me of Caroline. Ooops… I meant, Coraline. ;) ...

I have seen this word a lot here and there, never really had the time to look into what it really meant. Today I found its definition at wikipedia and iciba. 1. implicit rule, unwritten rule , unpublished rules 2. casting couch, hidden rules Basically, it means unwritten rules. Rules that facilitate the operations of the underlying system, yet unwritten due to the high possibility of being questioned and low chance of justifying it. ...
