Everything is Spiritual

This is incredible! " Everything is Spiritual" is a DVD that looks at the creation account from Genesis one in the Bible, with all the latest science understandings we currently have. From the biggest like the galaxies, stars, to the smallest like the atoms, quarks, and sub-atomic substances. The speaker, Rob Bell, is the founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church. He is by far the most scientifically knowledgeable pastor I have ever known. The DVD is $20, and believe me, it is well worth the money. The talk length is 1 hr and 20 mins, I became more awake as I was watching it. It’s definitely eye-opening to say the least! ...

Pandora

I sometimes need to play music at my work place to keep myself from falling asleep. I have subscribed to napster ($9.99 per month) for quite a while until I found this free online radio player. It’s call Pandora. If you are like me, listening to the same genre of songs, then you will like this. Basically, you start with typing in an artist’s name, or a song’s name, Pandora will search for a closest match. From this closest song, then comes the next related song, then the next related song, and so forth. The best yet, there is no advertisement! Try it out! ...

Program shortcuts

If you need to stay in front of your computer for work and possibly after work everyday, sooner or later you will get tired of using your mouse. Throughout the years, with my limited knowledge of some of the common shortcut keys I have saved so much of my time and arm movements. I think everyone of my generation should know most of the frequently used shortcut keys already. But if you are interested to learn even more shortcut keys for specific programs such as PhotoShop, Excel, etc, you will find this site http://www.keyxl.com/ very useful. Certainly it’s not possible to say goodbye to my mouse, but as much as possible I would rather keep my hands on my keyboard for the most of the time. ...

Polaris Project

Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman started the Polaris Project in 2002 at Brown University. From a casual conversation on US history to slavery happening nowadays. Modern slavery is not a well-known issue to the general public, but it’s a very large problem to the whole human population. It’s in fact a global issue. Most of the victims have no means to get out of their situations. I am so glad to see that Katherine and Derek are running the Polaris Project to speak for those who are voiceless. ...

MPAA admits mistake, 15 not 44

I found it hard to believe that MPAA made this kind of big error. After all, many bills in the House are based on these findings. However, I do appreciate their honesty. It is not easy to admit this kind of embarrassing mistake. I am not sure if it is a coincident but that, DRM starts to get dropped as well. NoScript

“Winner of the “2006 PC World World Class Award”, this tool provides extra protection to your Firefox. It allows JavaScript, Java and other executable content to run only from trusted domains of your choice, e.g. your home-banking web site, and guards the “trust boundaries” against cross-site scripting attacks (XSS). Such a preemptive approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and even unknown!) with no loss of functionality… Experts do agree: Firefox is really safer with NoScript ;-)” ...
